Thanks for stopping by!
On the right you'll find a few of the games I've developed on my own. All of these were learning experiences!
When I was young, I always wanted to make games, but without YouTube tutorials, and no programming in school, it always seemed out of reach. Then, one day in 2016, I saw a GameMaker: Studio tutorial on Youtube, and I realized that I could finally do it.
Between 2016 and 2019 I worked on it whenever I could and managed to rack up dozens of unfinished projects. I haven't been making games much lately, as my main thing is writing novels. But I have written a couple helpful scripts, mostly just helpful to me, but you can find the Terraria Multiple Server Launcher here.
My main IDE is GameMaker and it's verious iterations, as I'm mostly interested in making 2D games, & it serves me well because of that. However I also have worked a bit with Unity, Unreal, Godot, NES Maker, & several languages including C, C++, Python, Ruby, C#, Java, Javascript, & Go.
Lately, I have taken to learning 6502 Assembly to finally accomplish my lifelong dream of building NES games from scratch. And I'm loving it. I have nothing to show yet, but the next games to come will be NES roms (and maybe full cartridge releases - one can dream).
Honestly, I think I like 6502 ASM more than any other language I've used. I love how it's just nuts and bolts. I'm in full control. Part of the lifelong dream is to create a franchise that evolves through the console generations. So, if one of my NES games turns out to be the one, I may learn how to make SNES games and make a sequel on that, and so on. However, depending on how my brain takes to the programming on various consoles, this may end up going from NES and SNES roms, to being made in Unreal Engine, especially when we get to 3D games.
